Just Grillin'

What’s good fam?

Last Monday night, we witnessed a miracle. Driving home from a member’s birthday party, we drove by something on the side of the street. We turned around to go see what it was, definitely Spirit directed. Turns out to be a basically brand new portable Coleman Grill, working and everything, for free! Blessings! We brought it back home, cleaned it up a little, got propane and then we were ready to go. After District Meeting, we tried grilling some chicken and sala chichas (weiners LOL), pork later in the week and today were having a barbeque with the whole zone. So shout out to Jimbo for teaching me all I know!
But anyways, this week was actually pretty solid! Finding the free grill was just the beginning. On Wednesday, we went on exchanges with the Mason City Elders and there I was able to interview our man Justin to be baptized. Justin is just awesome. Such a solid kid, smart, loves the Gospel, and a total stud. Couple times during an exchange, I was able to teach him and was just blown away for how much this 11 year old boy knew. Catch him in the mission field in a couple of years! The day finally came on Saturday and he was dunked! With a complete army of Elders by his side, haha.
Later in the week, we stopped by Hector. Our homie who sang and prayed for us and is actually loving everything that we are teaching! We dropped in Friday night and he opened up the door and have us the biggest hugs! We walk in and his girlfriend is there too. He sits us down and says “Teach us something now!” So we were able to teach both him and his girlfriend Irma about the Book of Mormon. Half way through, Irma had to bounce but instead of just giving us her number and address to stop by, she told us, “follow me home so you know where it is and can come teach me more later.” So of course we did and now we have them both progressing.
Well there’s a whole funny story to this all. As we came back after following Irma home, Hector explained really why she wanted us to follow her. I guess Irma has a stalker…straight up, no joke. Hector explained the situation more and how the stalker is an “ex-lover” not being able to get over her. A little nuts haha. He told us that he drives a new white Ford pick-up truck. What car was right behind us as we followed Irma home…yup. A new, white Ford truck. Great. Hahaha! Everything is good though. We got the power of God on our side.
So much more I could write but I’ll finish by telling you all to go watch President Nelson’s devotional that he had on Sunday night. It was bomb and worth the watch for everyone!
