¡Deficil es bueno!

Hola from the CCM...for 12 more days!

Hello Fam and Friends!!

Today officially marks my 1 month mark! Holy cow has time flown... Jayne didn’t even realize that it was the month mark and that I leave the CCM in 12 days so that shows all of us how much she really misses me...jk! Overall a pretty average week here. Besides conference, which I’ll talk about later, nothing too special happened. I’m at that stage where I’m ready to leave and just get thrown into the field but then at the same time trying to take advantage of every single second, soaking up as much Spanish as possible. Only 12 days left though, so ready or not, I’m coming for ya IA!

Conference humor!
Conference is the obvious highlight of the week but wanted to also share a couple stories. First, I was able to see Elder Watchman yesterday! He just got here on Tuesday and it was so fun to see him here. Wyatt... I mean Elder Harrison, and I were looking for him all Tuesday and when we finally ran into each other we were so excited! Another story. During the Sunday afternoon session, Elder Dresser PASSED out, DEAD ALSEEP! It was hilarious. During one of the songs that the congregation got to sing, we all stood up and were all screaming in his ear as we sang the song... didn’t wake up. Broadhead and I then go on to balance our notebook on his head and then put a hydroflask that was FULL of water on top of the notebook. He still wouldn’t wake up. It was crazy. The water bottle even fell right on top of his lap and he didn’t even move. It was hilarious and we had like the enitre auditorium watching us and just laughing so hard. It was good to have a nice hard laugh. We really needed it, humor is must around here!

Anyways, on to General Conference now! Like I said, it was a holiday for us. Nothing but watching in nice comfy chairs and study time is what Saturday and Sunday consisted of. It’s not the same when we aren’t able to hear from our prophet but the messages that were given to us were still amazing. Obviously, I could sit here and go on and on about everything that was said but just want to share a couple of my favorite parts:  First, from Elder Oaks talk. "Choose the Lords way, not the worlds way." Something that ALL of us can strive to start doing everyday. Second, basically all of Elder Holland’s talk because how can you not just love everything he says... Also relates to all of us every single day!! Third, from Rasband’s talk on Saturday afternoon. "The Lord is in the small details in our lives." Relates to something that President Eves, 2nd counselor here at the CCM, taught in a devotional on Tuesday. How do we expect the Lord to trust us with the big things in life when we slack off, are lazy, and don’t care about the little things in our everyday life? "Straight fuego" as Elder Straight would say haha! Fourth, both of Pres. Nelson’s and Pres. Eyring’s talks emphasizing the importance of the Book of Mormon in our lives. READ THE BOOK! Its true! and will answer any question you have in your life! Read Mosiah 1:6-7. "Straight fuego". And lastly, Elder Zwick's talk. s/o to Lion King!! Best movie ever tbh but anyways, "Look beyond what we see... Through the power of Jesus Christ we will be able to open our eyes to others with the spirit" and through our Spiritual Alarms the Holy Ghost will always help guide us.

But I can’t fail to mention Elder Ellis's talk. "Hard is good!!" If you know my mom, that has been her go-to saying for years. And now, since a General Authority was prompted by the Lord to say that during conference, looks like we ALL have to start paying attention to it... just kidding Mama. It has been my go-to saying this first month, deficil es bueno! I will be the first to say it, ""Hard is Good" -Patti Christensen" - Elder Stanley Ellis. (haha s/o to Micheal Scott and the Office lovers who will get that joke.) Ellis went on to say, "Hard things in our lives helps us strengthen our faith... Hard is part of the Gospel plan." And as President Monson said a couple years ago, "May we always choose the harder right than the easier wrong."

s/o to Lib on her mission call to Houston!! No other team better than the Lord's! And GOOD LUCK to EHWS in state this upcoming week!! Give it to 'em! Always a good day to be a Leopard!

Love you all. Thankful for all the support and love.
