2018...It's a wrap
To my fellow survivors of 3 hour church,
I have gone back and forth for some time now (as I've been writing this) to decide what the best part of the week was... The last Sunday of 3 hour church or the skype home to the fam. It was a very difficult choice to make and a nail biter to say the least but in the end, the family squeaked it out! With all the technical problems and all that we ran into, it was an awesome time. Especially talking some trash with Matt & Peh. Somethings will never change... But I hope everyone had the best Christmas!! It is something else to be a missionary during this time. Makes it just so much more sweet. The Spirit felt during Christmas are feelings never to be forgotten. As missionaries though, we have the advantage out here cause we get to keep that Spirit all day long pounding on those doors and talking to random homies. Nothing gets better than that. Time is flying though and am soaking it all in this New Year!
This week flew by... as usual. With all the holidays, Christmas Eve and Christmas, and then our MLC the next day on Wednesday, was tough to get into the grove of things until Thursday. We got a lot of solid work ahead of us this transfer and are hoping to get wet coming up soon with Kelly! Kelly is just so awesome and ever since the baptism of her daughter Emily, just has been itching to get in that jumpsuit! The 1st Counselor in the Bishopric told us the other day that when Emily was baptized, he saw "the Spirit come down and rest upon the shoulders of Kelly. Since her complexion has not changed." Pretty cool stuff. He's no Prophet or anything but he was spot on. Just a couple more hurdles for her to get past and she is all good to go! Her and Emily even have a trip all planned out to go to Nauvoo once they're both baptized. Dynamic duo or what?!
We also saw a huge miracle when we went back over to talk with the parents of Chase and Chance. Can't remember if I had mentioned their situation before but super quickly just in case I haven't is that their dad, Isaac, got baptized back in August and wants to boys tized asap. The mom, Annie, on the other hand, has no logical reason why they can't be baptized right now and can only be baptized when they are 12. I don't even know so don't ask... But anyways. Huge breakthrough with Annie!! We had invited them to pray as a family throughout the week about the boys' baptism. We got there and it just did not seem like it worked or if they had really even tried. They were still on total opposite sides of each. Isaac: "I want the boys baptized as soon as possible." Annie: "I did not feel anything. They must not be ready." Somehow, in the next 15 minutes, the Spirit touched Annie's heart to the point where she accepted us to come over and help prepare the boys to be baptized. We took it the next step and invited her to sit in with us during those lessons. She was super happy and accepted to do that so on the days she is not working, she will be listening in and getting bombarded by the Spirit!!
The mice problem we had last week is a gift that just keeps on giving. After big papa mouse #1, we have gone on to kill big mama mouse #2 on Christmas morning and their 5, yes 5, kiddos. We have had no mouse sightings for 3 days now so I can finally sleep peacefully. #ChristmasMiracle
Love you all so much! 2019!!!! Let's go!!!
