Clutch or Crutch

Mis queridos. What is up?

Elder Richardson and I had a pretty interesting week to say the least. Overall, made me really appreciate working hard and staying busy. All started on Tuesday when had to transfer ALL records from our two area books to our phones and digitize everything. We had the entire day on Tuesday set aside so literally did not do a thing besides that. Wednesday morning rolls around and we are on an exchange with some other Elders so naturally we all go play ball early in the morning for our exercise time. All is going well, we were about to take the W, when Elder Richardson jumped up to block a shot and his entire weight came down on his ankle…right then the week was basically done. Took him to Urgent Care cause his entire bottom half of his calf and all the way down to his toes was swollen. We thought that for sure it was going to be a fracture but thankfully the x-rays revealed that it wasn’t. But his foot was so swollen that the doctors couldn’t tell if there was any ligament damage...yeah it was bad! He’s doing better now though! And his entire foot is not swollen but a lovely shade of dark purple and black bruising.
Pero seguimos adelante!

Even with the boy on crutches with a swollen ankle, we were able to have some good lessons with peeps we’re working with. Once of the lessons was with Carolina. The Elders before us had started teaching her but left us the task of helping her quit smoking and drinking. The past three weeks that’s what we’ve been working on with her. Every time we are with her we would just testify, testify, testify of all the promised blessings that come when we live the Word of Wisdom. But it just seemed like she couldn’t get over the hump…until this week! We got there prepared to go through some steps on how to quit and everything when, with a huge smile on her face, she told us she hadn’t smoked or drank all week long! And to add to it all, she said she has already seen some of those blessings we had promised her! Miracle! She’s getting so close to being dunked. She and her boyfriend now need to get their marriage stuff lined up which should be pretty soon…waiting on papers. Pray for the papers to come!

We were also able to have interviews with President and Sister Badger on Friday. Just always such a solid time to be able to meet with the both of them. Pres. always asks us to read a certain reading assignment before interviews and this time it was John 17, the Savior’s great Intercessory Prayer. And he asked us to come prepared with three ways we can be “in the world but not of it.” I invite all of you to check it out and try it for yourselves! Sister Badger also brought some bomb Muddie-Buddies and it reminded me of the Colter Bay Muddie-Buddies….Oh Man!

Should be a good week this week. Love you all.
