Witnessing Miracles

What is up squad?

¡Feliz dia de Madres! One of the two best days as a missionary! Being able to chat with the fam was great. Highlight was Skyping 4 ways from here in Hampton, to Jayne in DC, to Roddy in New York City, then to Nate in Argentina! All through the fam back at home. I hope that everyone had a good day talking with their loved ones and that all moms got spoiled by their families!

It would be safe to say that we witnessed just miracle after miracle this week. Looking back at it, we saw God’s hand in so many ways. My faith strengthened, and I realized that there are no coincidences in life. Everything has a purpose and is all part of God’s plan. Elder Renlund said in this past general conference that, “When God directs us to do one thing, He often has many purposes in mind.” This was true especially this week. Our goal this week was to try to get in touch with everyone and get that second appointment. On Saturday, as we tried by one house, a car pulled up right after us. We got out and started to chat. His name was Ulyses and lived with some others in the same house as one of our investigators. As we started to talk with him, we asked him if he had ever talked with missionaries before. He said he had, then continued to tell us basically the entire first vision and restoration. Elder Richardson and I just stood back a little surprised as he just kept talking about how great he thought the church was, and how highly he thinks of members and missionaries, and basically how much he likes the doctrine. So super stoked to start working with him and hopefully getting him to church soon! Not just a coincidence that we just happened to run into him.

The next miracle was running into Benny again! I don’t know if you all remember Benny but we found Benny our second day together in Hampton but since then he dropped off the face of the earth. Appointments with him would fall through, everything that could go wrong had and it caused us not to be able to make any progress with him. But after talking with the fam on Sunday night we felt like we should stop by some of our investigators’ places again. Right when we got out of the car, Benny walked outside his house at the same time. He asked for us to stop back by because he wants to learn more and has time in between work. Coincidence? Nah.

Earlier in the week, also happened to run into our girl Joyce! Our super funny, 72-year-old “friend”. Just the Lord putting us in the exact place and that exact time. Coolest part is that we hadn’t even planned to be in that part of town, but we decided to do so. We are excited to have our second “lunch date” coming up soon.

Good luck to my boys this week in the playoffs! Ball out for all of us! Band of Brothers!

Love you all!
