Working up a Sweat

¡¿Que lo que fam?!
Hoping everyone had a great week! This week was definitely a pretty slow one, one I’m ready to move on from. Just all part of the missionary life. But with it being super slow, we still had some great lessons, and people progressing.
A little less than a month ago, E. Richardson and I knocked into a 14-year-old girl named Victoria. She had some real promise and we were excited to work with her. Well, for the next two weeks we lost contact with her. When we stopped by her house she was never there. We had forgotten to get her number or some way of contacting her so we had no way of getting in touch with her. We were pretty close to just giving up. A week and a half ago, after stopping by her house one last time with no luck, we decided that that was that. Time to move on. As we were driving home to call it a day, who do we ‘happen’ to run into? Yep, Long lost Victoria. Now she’s loving learning more about everything. She said to us, “that it just clicks”. Sunday, she was able to come to church for her first time! And there at church, she was able to run into a lot of her old friends that she had no idea were members. So the young women just came up clutch. We’re excited for Victoria!
We were able to meet with Carolina this week. Every day and every time we head over, I’m just praying for a miracle with her papers. But that miracle has yet to come…lol. I couldn’t really tell you how much longer she needs to wait because we hear different things from everyone we talk to. Last week her brother said 6-8 more weeks. Saturday, Carolina said 3 months. Meanwhile, here’s me trying not to pull all my hair out…jk…I’m just chilling. Anyways, for our second time, we talked to Carolina about moving out and moving in with her brother. She totally gets why she needs to do it and even understands why it’s so important beyond just getting baptized. But we told her, it’s up to her and our Heavenly Father to the decision. Stopping back by this week to follow up with her.
Things are chugging along here in Hampton. I’m constantly drenched in sweat from 80% humidity and 95+ degrees but I’m loving it! Hope everyone had an awesome Father’s Day and treated the old man to a good day! They deserve it! Take a peek at the Father’s Day video, Earthly Father, Heavenly Father from the Church, a couple years old but still bomb. Give my dad a hug for me when you see him!
Love from the cornfields,
Elder Christensen
