Elder Scoresby!

¡Mi Escuadrón!

Yet another transfer has come and gone! They are going by way too fast and that’s not good…But I will be hitting my year mark this transfer, a couple weeks away so that is just nuts! With that being said though, I have a new comp, Elder Scoresby! He came from the farthest area in Illinois that was part of the old Chicago West Mission that is now a part of ours. And he is a stud and a baller, not to mention that he’s 6’5” too. Besides working hard and doing all that good stuff, we’ve been balling hard together. Stockton to Malone type of thing. We usually play some ball with these Marshallese kids a couple times a week at night and we always have to gain their respect by beating them a couple times. Well, when Scoresby threw one down on one of the first points of the game, we’ll just say that there wasn’t much talking from them…lol! Shut them up real quick.

Overall, we just had a packed week. Not a lot of time to get out and contact but when we did, we made it worthwhile. We were excited on Saturday to have a little over an hour and a half to contact, and it just happened to be that the first person we contacted was a lady who was a pastor at her church. “Oh great”, I thought, here comes a bash. But it was actually such an awesome experience. They (she and her husband) let us right in when we told them we had a message about Christ, just the usual faithful Liberians. We gave our piece short and sweet because we knew pastor lady was bound to have some questions. She did, but it wasn’t any of the questions trying to tear us down or prove us wrong…they were all questions with the purpose of learning and understanding. She was just a sincere seeker of truth. Every question she asked, it was awesome to relate it back to the Restoration of Christ’s church and the power of the Book of Mormon. 1 ½ hours later, Nancy (pastor lady) was excited to study and read the Book of Mormon with her Bible, every day with her morning studies.

The past Wednesday, as a zone, we headed up to a cool State Park in our area. It was for p-day so we went to hike and explore around for the day. It was kinda funny, there really wasn’t anything too special about this state park, and I think it’s because all we have to do in Utah is go up a canyon and we have it right there. But it was good to have that familiar feeling of home again…literally in the middle of cornfields!

Take a peep at Moroni 9:6 this week.

Love you all!
