Reason for Everything

Operation Christmas Havoc

Squad!!

As I'm writing this letter, I am currently watching one of the mice we have in our place slowly but surely naw away at the bait we have placed on one of the 6 traps we have IN OUR KITCHEN. Saturday we placed all 6 traps around the kitchen (HQ for Operation Christmas Havoc) and placed a nice chunk of peanut butter and pieces of bread on the trap. We wake up the next day and EVERYTHING IS GONE. No bread. Peanut butter licked clean. But no mouse. L. We were so shocked. So we went up, got ready and came back down to leave for church when BAM. Little sucker got gready and went back for more. We had named him Matt the Mouse and his luck ran out. Man had outsmarted mouse. We had a hunch that there could be more but didnt know for sure. Fast forward a couple hours when we get back from church and THERE'S MORE. They had taken the bread we had just laid out 2 hours before. And now you have all been updated on what's going down on 5681 Vista Drive.

Your face when you catch the mouse
But besides that, what a week it has been! I did not think that the week would ever end but here I am! It was transfer week for the mission so from Sunday to Thursday it was so crazy busy. A lot of logistical nightmares we had to figure out but everything went smoothly. Im also a Grandfather in the mish now too! My boy Elder Richardson is training a new missionary so we have 3 Generations out in the field. Buckets!
Emily new journal she bought for herself...who is this girl?!

Emily was baptized as well this Saturday!! Emily was maybe the most prepared person ready to accept this Gospel than anyone I have ever seen. It was too good. Her baptismal service was just bomb as well. Tears were shed (you know how women get lol) and the Spirit was superrrrrrr strong. Emily and her mom Kelly also invited Emily's dad and both sets of grandparents to come and they did! They were able to hear strong testimonies on baptism, the gift of the Holy Ghost, and the Restoration of the Gospel. Almost all of them came to sacrament meeting today as well. We thought that was the end, that Christmas was over, but it wasn't. After church we get a text from Kelly asking if her baptismal date for Feburary 2nd was set in stone. We explained that it wasnt, just a goal for her to work towards. She then told us how she would love to get baptized much sooner than that! Christmas Miracle! Stay tuned on when. Nothing but the Spirit though working its magic!!

The work is awesome here. I missed being in Des Moines so much. Crazy to be driving the same streets I was driving exactly a year ago. This time of year is always special! Any day is a great day to be a missionary but nothing quite tops being a missionary during Christmas! Christ is not just the reason for the season, but the reason for everything.

Love you all! And have a MERRY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
