Snow Hold

the good and the bad of too much snow!

Hey squad!

Another solid one over here! We got another storm roll through last night and have decided that in Iowa, it only snows Saturday night into Sunday morning... just the worst timing possible for missionaries. Last week church was canceled so now we're hoping that it doesn't get canceled again. We got homies to save!! But needless to say, we still had a bomb week over here on the $outh $ide.

Last week at a dinner, Elder Matthews was on exchanges with one of the ZL's and while they were eating, their waiter came up to them and said, pointing to the Book of Mormon on the table, "I have that book! I was reading in it everyday before I moved here and have been looking for the Church but havent found it." Legit. This is what went down. (A little real time update with church: just got canceled for the second straight week. Midwesterns are officially the softest people ever). But back to our man. His name ended up being Fabian, a homieeeeeee from Colombia. He had received un Libro back there and just ate that thing up. Just loved it. Soon after, came up to the States but left the book behind. Fast forward a year and a half and there he is finding the Church once again. Elder Matthews got his info down and a couple days later we had him over at the Church for a church tour. He was so down for all of it. Just his desire to find the correct church was out of this world. He just kept on telling us how good he was feeling and how he's been looking for that feeling in a church for a long, long time now. He wants to try out church in English one time (if we even have church ever... smh) and then we'll get him hooked up with the Spanish branch where there, he will for sure take a nice little swim!

Another fun little story is our man Roland! Roland was part of our African Soap Opera a while back and now that things are finally starting to get back to normal for him, his desire to learn and progress is back as well! Saturday night, we were able to head over and re-teach him the Gospel. Earlier that day, his cute little baby girl took her first steps and he was just beaming with happiness! As we taught him, we kept on relating it all back to his family. From that, you could tell that he wasn't just doing this for himself, but for his little baby 11 month old as well. Always just so fun to see the Gospel transform these families lives. Especially with Roland and all that he has gone through. He has stayed firm in times where it would've been so easy to relax and let go, but he hasn't. Such a stud!! Hopefully next week Church won't be canceled so we can get that man moving to the font.

Little update on Jose and Susy: they're still dope. And she's making us some papusas soon. We made it. Bendiciones.

Read the BoM everyday. It will change your life!
