18 Months

Family and Friends,

Another week is in the books. The past Tuesday, March 5th, marked my 18 month mark serving as a missionary. And wowza was it pretty surreal. Looking back, reflecting on it all, it seems so quick yet so slow. It seemed like I was just in Hampton yesterday with the boys, sitting in a Spanish sacrament meeting for the first time in the Capitol Branch wondering what in the world was going on, and saying bye to all of you that last night. It's crazyyyyyyy and never thought that that day would come. It perfectly lined up that on Tuesday was a temple trip for the missionaries that were leaving and we were able to go along with them. So I spent my 18 month mark chillin at the temple. And let me tell you, the Nauvoo temple is legit. 12/10. $$$. "Straight fire". Can't wait to go back!

It was a pretty whacky week overall though. After our temple trip, all week long we were transfer planning which takes us out of our area for a good chunk of time. We were able to see some mighty fine miracles though come from it and squeeze in some lessons with the real OG's. My man Prince is rock solid and not to mention a baller on the court. He's 13 years old, 6 foot already, and the most humble 13 year old kid I've met. His mom Comfort is a member and his dad Will is not.... yet ;) But Prince is a homie. We went over and stopped by to see how everything was going and he was playing Fortnite, as any normal 13 year old kid would be doing. He then asked us if we were going to have a lesson so we said sure! Not everyday someone asks us to have a lesson... especially a teenager playing video games. Right then - now kiddos take note - he quit his game, grabbed his BoM and went and sat in the living room ready for a lesson. CLUTCH. If everything goes according to plan, he'll be getting dunked real soon!

Jose and Susy were also able to make it to church together as a couple for their first time! Jose's job is still giving him a hard time to get the weekend off but this week Jose did what I never wouldve expected anyone to do... He took one of his few paid, vacation days TO MAKE IT TO CHURCH. Legit. How cool is that? They seemed to love it minus the fact that cute little Stacey did not like the loud music from the organ... after Priesthood, Jose then asked us for another copy of the BoM to give to his neice. I asked him how the BoM and the Church was brought up and casually he just said, "oh we've been talking to her about everything we've been learning and she just loves it as well. We're going to try to bring her to our next lesson too." At this point I was jumping for joy inside. It was so cool! Then right after he dropped another bomb asking me if we could give Stacie a baby blessing. He said "I know that she would be so happy and know of the difference as she grows up and learns about the Gospel." I was just totally shook at how awesome they are. They have so much faith and it just grows bigger every single day. THE GOSPEL CHANGES LIVES.
