In the Zone!

the GOOD stuff!

Fam & friends!

What a week it has been. We had zone conferences all of this week so for most of the week we were all over the place and not in our area. It is always so fun to go around and be able to see everyone in the mission. It is always one of the highlights of the week. Also good to see all the day 1 homies. Zone conference week is usually pretty tiring. We get to sit through 3 day-long meetings and at times it can be brutal. But we also are able to give a training and act like we know what we are doing while we're up there... haha! We dropped some bombs though. We shook up some things we were not doing before and that we wanted the mission to focus now. It was pretty solid.

The days we were able to work though we were pretty slammed. Lots of lessons and cool stories. We met for our first time, a lady named Lovia (pronounced Love ya, it's dope). The YSA elders found her during the week and set up the return appointment for Saturday. We sat down and talked for like a hour and a half. She shared with us her experience finding the Church and get this. She explained how she moved here to Iowa from Cali to get away from the stress and craziness of the people over there. She said the second she got settled, she felt like this was the place for her. Fast forward 11 years and she is now in this quest to find more joy and peace in her life. So she started to listen to the Bible while working. It wasn't long until she saw an ad pop up on her phone about the Church. She clicked on the ad and was just totally hooked. She requested the missionaries and was genuinely interested to learn more about the gospel. She literally wasn't even looking for the Church but she found it. Her way to find that peace and joy she was looking for.

We had another dope lesson with Jose and Susy on the Word of Wisdom. They are just so dope. As we were talking with them, they had pretty much already started to live the WoW just from us mentioning certain things. Jose told us that after long night of driving (he's a truck driver), the guy at the store offered him some coffee. He said that he was okay and then the guy continued to offer him some tea at least for the road. He said he would pass on that too. Then the guy said the coffee would be on him and that he needed something for the road. Again, Jose refused and then just asked for a Sprite. He told us that he knew that we didnt drink coffee or tea but then did not know why we didn't or anything like that. Just so cool! Susy told us that she can't wait for her family to come over and her to not have anything but hot chocolate and soda for them instead of their coffee and beer. She said it's going to be hilarious for them! Things are starting to work themselves out and Jose is putting in some solid effort to getting work off. He told us that on the 10th he will be free and we are so pumped! But we are a little anxious because we are supposed to get another storm over the weekend and we all know what happened when Iowa gets 2 inches of snow... no church. So maybe for the first time in my life, I am hoping that we don't get this big storm so they can finally come!

Things are bomb over here. Read the Book of Mormon!!

Love you all.
