Luck of the Iowish

Family & Friends,

What a week it has been. The snow is melting and all but gone. The sun is out. And the poor cornfields are getting wrecked by flooded rivers. NOT THE CORN! Transfers have come and gone yet again, making it a stressful and exhausting week. I can finally sit back and relax a little bit.... ha! Sike. Always on that grind. The build up to transfers is unreal. Lots of long nights and early mornings. But very happy to have that behind us so we can focus some more on our peeps. Coming off a crazy week, it is fitting to just have had one of the best Sunday's since being here in Easter Lake! Feelin' lucky and blessed!

Last Saturday, after really spending an entire week out of our area unable to do any work, we recieved a referral from some Elders serving in the Nebraska Omaha mission, our neighboring corn lovers. They sent us a lady named Tiana Christiansen and her 8 year old son named Max. We hurried over that night to meet them and get to know them. Turns out, she is married to a member and their family of 5 just moved here from South Dakota with her husband parents, also members. So clutch. PMF's (part member families) for the win. Cute little Max just wants to literally jump into the font and is so excited to learn and come to church. Tiana literally knows the lessons that she is missing!! She was telling us, "yeah I just need to learn the Word of Wisdom, Families and Temples, and then a review and should be good." She also just said how badly they want to be sealed together. So that's pretty dope... We're pumped to start working with them and help Tiana out a little bit. I'm just excited to help them realize the proper way to spell 'Christensen'...

Our man Fabiann is still in the picture. Some things came up that will make his progress towards baptism a little bit more slow but that hasn't hindered his desire to learn. And along with that, his desire to share the Gospel. He sent us a text on Tuesday telling us that he really wanted to introduce us to his sister. We get there and his sister Kelly, is just as open as he is. She was eating up the message of the Restoration and couldn't wait to start reading in the BoM and to check out church for herself. Our next step is to get them over to the Spanish branch so they can be properly fellowshipped and helped according to their needs. That way los guerros in the ward don't have to struggle so hard.

Jose was able to make it to church again. Walked in like he owned the place!! The biggest smile on his face, was saying hi to everyone, it was awesome. We read through the Family: Proclamation to the World with them and obviously they loved it. They're going to frame it up this week! Our man Ismael also came and totally participated in Sunday School. He shared his life story and how everything has lead to him finding the Church. How cool!! He said, "I believe this is the place I've been looking for my entire life." I hope we all feel like that. If we don't, we have some work to do for ourselves to get to that point.

March Madness is coming to Des Moines. Catch me there.

Happy St. Patrick's Day... Kiss me I'm Iowish.

LUCKY TO HAVE ALL OF YOU
