By Faith that Miracles are Wrought

Doors open to those with smiles and Dr Peppers!

Hello Squad!

We said goodbye to Elder Matthews this week. It was a tough goodbye seeing that we were together for 4 1/2 months; we had gotten pretty tight. He'll kill the game back home though just like he did out here! Elder Clark and I got off to a later start to the week due to transfers but we made the most of the couple working days we had!

Jose will finally be getting baptized next Saturday! It has been a long time coming for him and Susy, but it is finally going to happen. I have seen so many miracles as we have taught them. Miracles that have propelled them to continue to grow and progress in the Gospel. The list is endless really, but the fact that their newborn baby Stacie never once broke out crying while we were there teaching them might be up there on the top of the list. It has helped Jose focus on the lessons and, more than anything, it allowed Susy be able to sit down with us and learn for herself. We always tell them that Stacie is just so calm and quite and they always respond that she is rarely like that... so s/o to Stacie for holding it in for us. We got Jose started on his Family History work and I can already tell he and Susy are just going to take offfffffff with it. They'll have a pile of names to take to the temple once they go!!

Our girl Carla is also doing amazing. She is also a woman of might miracles. If you didn't think her Moroni experience was awesome, that was just the beginning. Last week before coming to church, she was having her morning coffee and she told us before how much she loved her coffee. She went back to get a second cup ready and when she opened up the cupboard she did not have a single serving of coffee left. She took it as a sign from God obviously and has not touched coffee since. She went cold turkey without even meaning to do it!! We had an awesome lesson with her later on in the week and she expressed to us how surprised she was at how easy it was to quit. She is amazing. God is good. A wise man once said, "Has the day of miracles ceased? Or have angels ceased to appear unto the children of men? Or has he withheld the power of the Holy Ghost from them? Or will he, so long as time shall last...? Behold I say unto you, Nay; for it is by faith that miracles are wrought; and it is by faith that angels appear and minister unto men.” Moroni 7:35-37. It's going to be a splash party next Saturday with Jose and Carla! BRING YO WHITE SWIMSUITS.

Sending my love from the land of corn.
