General Conference for the Win

Ay yo!

Hope everyone had the best conference weekend! General Conference in the past has been like a two day vacation for us in the field but this time around we were busy getting all of our peeps hooked up to listen in. It was pretty dope, we watched the first session with Joseph in French and he loved it. He couldn’t stop smiling and talking about seeing the prophet and the twelve in person. It was pretty cool to witness. Also a side note s/o to two hour church...tears of joy. But I hope you were able to watch parts of Conference. If you didn’t, get online and watch it ASAP. I came out of it with even more certainty that this is the Lord’s church, no doubt in my mind. What a blessing it is to know that!

We had another great lesson with Jerold this week. This entire process, like I said last week, has been so strongly led by the Spirit that it is unreal. And this week was exactly that again. Leading up to the lesson we had no time at all to plan it out. We had an idea of what we wanted to say but had no clue how to present these ideas to Jerold in order to help him progress. It would’ve been more of a reassurance type of thing instead of pushing outside his comfort zone. We just didn’t really have time to really sit down and come up with a game plan. The day of the lesson rolls around and we happen to have MLC the same day. So here we are, sitting in yet another meeting, knowing that right when it’s over we are going straight to this big lesson unprepared. We basically just came to the conclusion to have the Spirit take over. And that, it did. The very first person, one of our counselors in the mission presidency, gives us this training on personal revelation. A topic that has been talked over and over again. But sitting there, the Spirit was so strongly telling me that this is was exactly what Jerold needed to hear and exactly how it was being given in this meeting. So fast forward to the lesson and it was great. We basically gave the exact training again to Jerold and the Spirit was definitely present. It was amazing to see all those ideas we had before weave perfectly into this lesson. The member friend of Jerold told us after we were walking to the car, “I don’t know how, and I was not expecting it at all, but he (Jerold) is making some of the biggest strides and progress that I have ever seen.”

The Spirit is there for all of us, to lead, guide, and bail us out of any situation...so listen to it!

Funny story of the week...I was on an exchange with a homie named Elder Davis from the Chicago mission (the mission that merged with us) we were talking about Chicago for a little bit. He was talking about one of the wards he was serving in and how while he was there this, a really nice couple with a baby named Scarlett moved in...hmmm, who could this be? He was shocked when I just started talking about Pedro and Michele. “Yeah, Michele is a baller”, “Pedro is obsessed with shoes and also a baller” And on and on we talked. It was so classic hearing stories of Peh being Peh over there in Chicago and how he’s still active in the church and not worrying about Neymar and shoes too much...LOL. So fun! Divine Design. And can’t wait for Peh to come take me out to dinner again soon....hint, hint.

Love you all. GO UTES, GO LEPS!!!!
